Quick Fix when you are Down with Flu

How to boost your immune when you fall ill (without taking all those drugs) ?

Getting these soldiers out to fight the flu!
Two weeks ago, was the peak of all the November birthday celebrations, my husband was one of the Nov babies! And unfortunately he was down with a nasty flu with sinus congestion and sore throat. It is probably because he was having a bit too much to drink in a few occasions, or it could just because of the fact that some kind of really strong bug must have been floating around in town. We had an upcoming oversea wedding trip planned, so I was on a mission to get him well fast! I dug out all the essential oils that i have, cough drops, and supplements that are especially good for fighting nasty flu, and basically drop them all on him (like a lab rat)! :D

The first oil that came to mind was R.C. (TM) from the premium starter kit, which is an oil blend that consisted of 3 different types of eucalyptus oil to help to clear the respiratory passage. So I rubbed some onto his chest, and diffused some with Oregano oil which is famous for killing all sort of germs in the air and in our body system. (I added a drop or two Lavender at night too, so he could sleep more soundly). During the day, I also diffused Thieves(TM) and Purification(TM) to purify the air, so to make sure that I wouldn't catch the bug at the same thing. Then I put a drop of peppermint rubbed under his nose and behind the ears, and at the back of the neck to clear the sinus for some instant relief. Thieves cough drops to soothe the firing throat... He was loving the peppermint treat!!!!

R.C. a blend with 3 different types of Eucalyptus Oil
which are good for Respiratory System.
Furthermore, I tried to boost up his immune system even more with Vitamin C and "Inner Defense", which is a strong antiviral supplement that contains potent essential oils like oregano, thyme, lemongrass and Thieves (TM), a blend of Clove, Lemon, Eucalyptus Radiata, Rosemary and Cinnamon.

So in about 2-3 days, after me (the wife) showered him (or drown him, haha) with all these oils and TLC,  :D , he was fully recovered. Hooray!

Peppermint to clear up sinus instantly and
to give that boost of much needed energy.
A week after, the day before our long-awaited trip for a close friend's wedding in Chiang Dao, Thailand, I was down with the same type of flu!!!! :( How upsetting! I haven't been traveling for the last 9 months, and I was really looking forward to this supposingly R&R trip). But never mind, I thought I would just do the same thing to myself as how I did for my husband, and hope that that flu would just be gone like the wind. Oh well, long story short, it did take me about 1.5 days to get over it fully, but i was totally miserable on day 1 of our trip.

Thieves - the best kind that steal all the germs away from me!
However, during this short recovery experience, I realized that some oils do have a more or less universal effect on most people, but some don't always work the same way for different people. For me, R.C. or eucalyptus in general, somehow doesn't work as well as they did for my husband. My eyes became watery when I smell or diffuse it, so it added onto my sinus (which i know, it's not the case for most ppl). Though, peppermint is my "PRECIOUS" for those few days! I couldn't live without it. I rubbed it under my nose so that I could breath!! I rubbed over my chest, the back of neck to feel the cooling effect when my body temperature was up, and put a drop into hot water and cup my nose to inhale it (If you haven't tried it, you need to! It's heavenly)!!!

Another thing that I have always heard from other experienced"oil-ers", but never dare to try it myself. It's to put a drop of Thieves (TM) under the tongue! (As for most medicines, under the tongue, is where it gets absorbed fastest to the body) I was like "NO WAY! It would be so spicy!!!" But i was desperately trying to get well and to stop the flu from evolving into one of those lasting cough! So there I bravely put a drop under my tongue!!! Oh dear!!! Why didn't I do this earlier in my life??? It just instantly soothe my throat, and the congestion! It felt like, that single drop of THIEVES just went around my mouth, spread to my nasal passage and down to the throat and just disinfected everything along its way! Sound so dramatic, but it's really felt that good! Before that, it was Apple Cider Vinegar shot that kinda did the trick usually, but THIEVES brings it to a whole new level!

Other than putting a drop under the tongue, I also rub a drop or 2 under my feet before I sleep. Or add an extra drop to my Ningxia Red super fruit juice in the morning. It really works for me to get my immune system back on track.

Another point to note is that, without practice it's actually not that easy to aim it right under the tongue with the original 15ml bottle! Sometimes it falls on the tip of the tongue or on the lips. The effect will not be as therapeutic. So I just simply transferred a portion to a 5ml dropper bottle, and I used the glass dropper to precisely drop one or two under my tongue when I was out and about, and couldn't do that in front of a mirror! :D So there you go, just a little tip for the beginners.

So by day 2 at the wedding ceremony, we were feeling all well
again and looking good (enough) :D!
Well enough to have extra energy to party with this bunch
of high energy level "children":D
